Nell Zink - Doxology — in conversation with Ian MacKaye — at Politics and Prose at Union Market

Upcoming Event
Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm

Hailed by The New York Times as one of a “New Vanguard” of fifteen women writers who are shaping fiction today, Zink burst onto the literary scene with the utterly unique The Wallcreeper, followed by Mislaid and Nicotine. Her new novel, written with Zink’s signature sharpness, humor, and warmth, follows the nation’s cultural and political zeitgeist from the 1990s to today through the lives of three punk rockers. Pam, Daniel, and Joe break up their (at best mediocre) group when Joe records a hit single, but the three remain friends. Meanwhile, Pam and Daniel raise their daughter Flora who, after 9/11, becomes an environmental activist working on the front lines of a new, unforeseen threat.

Zink will be in conversation with Ian MacKaye, co-founder of the record label Dischord and of bands including Minor Threat, Fugazi, and The Evens.
