Madelyn Banks began writing poems, essays and plays as a way to express her feelings and thoughts about her faith and relationships as she journeyed from a pre-teen to a mature woman. This book is her first publication, and is the second edition. As a young girl, she once dreamed of being an actress like Ruby Dee, whose performance in "A Raisin in the Sun" captured her imagination. She remembers holding strong to the thought that "If Ruby Dee can do it, then so can I!" This conviction would give her strength and clarity throughout all of her creative expressions. It was church that would first foster her creativity. Aware of her numerous talents, her pastors encouraged her to write, sing and act. She loved singing in the choir, sharing her essays and poems with the congregation. She also enjoyed writing, directing and performing in annual Christmas plays. Madelyn wrote a play in celebration of Black History Month which has been produced several times at churches in Chicago. Madelyn is also an accomplished songwriter and entrepreneur. She co-wrote a gospel anthem which is on the West Angeles Church of God in Christ CD titled "No Limit". The name of the song is "For Great Is The Lord."
