In this open access book, Reham Hosny explores and reflects on the idiosyncrasies of Arabic electronic literature (e-lit).

Electronic literature from the Arab world is a fusion and confusion of cultures, histories, and languages. While each chapter adopts its theoretical framework according to the discussed issue, an analytical, medium-specific, and cross-cultural approach is the main critical orientation. @arabicelit starts its journey from 12th-century Arabic poetry to reflect upon the classical precursors of e-lit down to present developments, genres, and poetics. Although there are a few books in English language that discuss Arabic literature on the Internet, none of them discuss Arabic e-lit as a born-digital practice. This book reflects the experience of its author as the director of the Arabic Electronic Literature network (AEL) and the international consultant of the Electronic Literature Organization's ELC4.
