The Covenant Is Still Good: From Celibacy to Marriage (Paperback)
Keeping my commitment to God to remain celibate until marriage wasn't as difficult as battling the bouts of intense loneliness. I had done everything I knew to prepare for my future husband...read books, articles and devotionals, listened to sermons and podcasts, fasted, prayed continually, and studied God's Word daily. Still, my husband was seemingly nowhere in sight. After 11 months of intentional celibacy, I was not easily flattered by kind words or sweet gestures. But when an alluring gentleman commented on one of my "Dear Future Husband" Facebook posts, an intriguing dialogue continued in my inbox. During our first conversation, Mr. Martin asked me to meet him for dinner that night; I agreed to go. After talking about our dreams, goals, fears, likes, dislikes, and so much more, we walked out of the restaurant. Neither wanted the night to end; it had been so perfect. Under the brightly lit moon, he hugged me ever so gently before parting ways. There was no mention of whether we would see each other, or even talk-again, but something in my heart confirmed that he was the one.
Krystall Pittman Martin, affectionately called Krissy, is a native of Enfield, NC. She now resides in Weldon, NC, with her husband, Christon. Their blended family consists of four children: Kierra, Parish, Kristion, and Angel. Krissy's parents are Calvin "KC" and Dail "Faye" Pittman, and she has one sister, Karrie Pittman. Krissy is a 2002 graduate of NC Wesleyan College where she received her B.A. in Political Science. In 2011, she received her M.S. in Leadership in School Administration from Capella University. She also earned an Academically or Intellectually Gifted Graduate Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In addition to serving as an educator in local public school systems since 2003, Krissy also co-founded and has served as one of two certified life coaches for Freedom & Abundant Life Coaching and Consulting, LLC (FALCC) since 2016. FALCC is one of the avenues by which Krissy shares and helps others understand the Good News of John 10:10, abundant life through Christ. She serves as the Director of Project Lift Community Efforts, an organization founded by her husband. Krissy is a lifelong member of the Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, NC, and a contributor to its monthly newsletters. Krissy enjoys spending time with God and family, reading, writing, traveling, and Kingdom building. She loves and knows the power of all of God's Word. A few favorite "go-to" Scriptures have been relevant in every season of her life. They are Jeremiah 29:11, Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:6-8 & 4:19, Ephesians 3:20, Galatians 6:9, Isaiah 30:18, Hebrews 11:6, James 1:5, Psalm 37:4, and the 8th chapter of Romans. Like David, Krissy proclaims that she would have fainted had she not believed that she would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). She knows that she is blessed because she believed (and still believes) that God would fulfill his promises to her (Luke 1:45), and loves encouraging others to believe the same! With much enthusiasm, she begins her book publishing journey with her first book, The Covenant Is Still Good.
