Vittorio Zecchin: Princesses in the Garden from A Thousand and One Nights (Foiled Journal) (Flame Tree Notebooks) (Notebook / blank book)
Part of a series of exciting and luxurious Flame Tree Notebooks. Combining high-quality production with magnificent fine art, the covers are printed on foil in five colours, embossed, then foil stamped. And they're powerfully practical: a pocket at the back for receipts and scraps, two bookmarks and a solid magnetic side flap. These are perfect for personal use and make a dazzling gift. This example features Vittorio Zecchin's Princesses in the Garden from A Thousand and One Nights.
A gifted artist, designer and glassmaker, Vittorio Zecchin was a major part of the Italian Art Nouveau, or Liberty, movement. This vivid, striking piece is part of a series of canvases commissioned for the dining room of the Hotel Terminus in Zecchin’s native Venice. Titled Le Mille e una Notte (A Thousand and One Nights), it depicts two princesses making their way through the Sultan’s garden, bearing gifts for his daughter.
