P&P Live! Robin Talley — The Love Curse of Melody McIntyre

Upcoming Event
Thursday, December 3, 2020 - 7:00pm

Melody McIntyre’s dream of being the stage manager for her school’s theatre company is finally coming true, but her disastrous love life seems to have triggered a long-standing theatre curse, creating chaos for the plays she produces. Swearing off love for the spring run of Les Misérable, the last thing that Melody needs is the growing attraction she feels for the talented lead actress, Odile, especially with concerned cast and crew looking on with suspicious eyes. With a cheeky nod to theatre geeks everywhere, the lighthearted romance is sprinkled with musical references, the “rules of the theatre”, and backstage shenanigans. Robin will be in conversation with YA author Saundra Mitchell.

Robin Talley is the best-selling author of YA short stories and novels including Music From Another World, Pulp, and Our Own Private Universe. Before she turned to writing full-time, Robin did digital communications for LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, educational equity and other progressive causes. Her books have been short listed for the Lambda Literary Award and CILIP Carnegie Medal. Robin currently lives in Washington DC with her wife and children.

Saundra Mitchell has been a phone psychic, a car salesperson, a denture-deliverer, and a layout waxer. She’s dodged trains, endured basic training, and hitchhiked from Montana to California. The author of nearly twenty books for tweens and teens, Mitchell’s work includes Edgar Nominee Shadowed Summer, The Vespertine series, Lambda Finalist and IAA winner All the Things We Do In the Dark, and the Camp Murderface series with Josh Berk. She’s also the editor of three anthologies for teens, Defy the Dark, All Out, and Out Now. She always picks truth; dares are too easy.
